Centralia — Trevor Lynn Matticks, 34, of Centralia, Illinois, formerly of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital – Centralia, surrounded by his loving family. Trevor was born June 27, 1992, in Springfield, the son of Roderick L. and Donna Maria Bethel Matticks. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Evelyn Matticks, Donna Shaw and William Bethel Jr.

Trevor was a true spark of joy. Anyone who crossed his path knew his radiant light, his pure, joyful spirit, and his rare ability to instantly lift a room and bring a smile to your face. He lived life with a mischievous grin — a legendary practical joker who absolutely loved the ladies, never went anywhere without a gag toy or his favorite fart machine, and could never pass up the chance to burst into laughter at a good, loud sneeze.

Trevor's memory and bright laughter will live on forever in the hearts of his family who love him so dearly: his parents, Rod and Maria Matticks of Cottleville, Missouri; his twin brother, Jeremy L. (Murküry Matteblack) Matticks of Moorpark, California; and his sister and brother-in-law, Brianna L. and Matthew Dondanville of Cottleville. He is also deeply missed by his godmother, Andrea Elam of Shelbyville; his grandfather, Ronald Nunez; his cherished nephews, Henry J. and William F. Dondanville; his sweet niece, Emma M. Dondanville; as well as his wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins, lifelong friends, and the dedicated, trusted caregivers who became such a special part of his world.

Long before making his home in Centralia, Trevor left a lasting mark on his hometown communities in Illinois, where he grew up as a member of the Church of the Little Flower in Springfield and graduated from Glenwood High School in Chatham with the Class of 2010. Trevor taught everyone around him how to laugh a little louder, love a little deeper, never underestimate the quiet ones, and to be patient and live in the moment. His smile and beautiful light will never be forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to gather for the Vigil service on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026, at 4:15 p.m. at the Church of the Little Flower in Springfield. Visitation will immediately follow, concluding at 6 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, at the Church of the Little Flower, with Rev. Allen Kemme officiating. The Rite of Committal and burial will be held privately at Quincy Memorial Park in Quincy, Illinois.
