William H. MacDonald III, 87, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Pawnee, Illinois, died Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital in Humble, Texas. William was born July 9, 1933, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of William H. MacDonald II and Dorothy W. Weaver MacDonald. He married Kay L. Edwards on June 27, 1953, at Pawnee Assembly of God Church in Pawnee. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Harold G. Stoll; one grandson, Jacob Stafford; and one granddaughter, Charity Austin. William was a member of Crossroads Fellowship Church in Houston. He was a truck driver for 20 years, and later worked for more than 10 years at Walmart in Gun Barrel City. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Kay MacDonald, of Houston; four daughters, Beverly A. (husband, Gary) Stafford of Dexter, Michigan, Deborah L. (husband, Roger) Eaton of Kemp, Texas, Lori R. (husband, Robert) Reid of Houston, and Sallie J. Austin of Point, Texas, 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Crossroads Fellowship Church, 12110 E. Sam Houston Parkway North in Houston, with Pastor Mike Allard officiating.
